Post by: samiul11 on August 26, 2014, 06:31:23 pm
Need to update as im currently bored of my system...was looking at the Veyron VNS-VW http://www.auto-electronics.com/index.php/veyron-vns-vw.html ...has anyone had one of these installed?

Is there any other good copies out there as i dont want to spend £500 on the actual rns510  :ashamed:

I think a few members of this forum have it.

Link corrected..

Sorry I don't have it (don't even have a Golf Gti yet  :signLOL:), but this would be the one I get if the car doesn't come with an RNS.

Have a search on youtube, the Eonon gear seems reliable.

Have a search on the forum, I am sure at least one member has an eonon unit in their golf.

+1

Worth waiting for a USED genuine RNS510 than a replica IMO. :drinking:

I'm not too keen on Eonon.  Had one in my MK4 and all the buttons came loose.  I have this Xtrons one in my mk5 http://goo.gl/1AlwXl (http://goo.gl/1AlwXl).  Had it 2 years now and not a single problem (Y).

Quick video I put together a while ago for a member I recommended it to.

This looks pretty good. Good price as well. Is it easy to update the maps?

Thanks for the link and video.

I don't have a highline display so I'm not 100% but I doubt it will.

Also as far as I know you just put the SD card into a PC download the Sygic software and it will update it.  I've never actually done it though.  I've been really happy with it for the past two years though.  The only thing that lets it down is the iPod menu.  It only shows a list of all the songs and no selection for Artists, albums etc.  It's not too much problem as I mainly use the SD card though or if I do have the iPod on it's on shuffle and I just skip through.
