Title: Aux Cable Help Please?!
Post by: Dundy53 on August 27, 2014, 06:14:32 pm
Hey, so I've got a 55 plate MK5 Golf GTTDi with an RCD300 fitted, as standard they don't come with an aux function. However I've read on here you can buy a cable and plug it into the CD exchanger port on the back and may/may not have to get the CD Changer function (Press CD button twice) Activated by VCDS or some sorts. So I bought the cable - I bought the cheapest one I could find, and it doesn't come with the earthing point most do - which may be the reason it's not working & got the CD changer function enabled by my local VW Dealer. The cable is fitted and when you press the CD button twice it just comes up with 'No CD Changer' or some sorts..

I'm guessing it's probably the crappy cable but I'm to cheap to buy a decent one if this one works and I'm just missing out on something.

Any help would be appreciated,
Cheers!

Sorry for not answering your question but I got round this by getting my GTs already fitted with a parrot mki9200, I can slot an SD card in the back of the display screen, I have an iPod cable, an aux cable and a USB port so basically I can connect music anyway I chose, iirc I can Bluetooth it across as well.

It also connects two mobiles so I'm covered for my mobile and my work phone when behind the wheel.

It can play music from my choice of input without the stereo even being switched on yet the sounds come out through the full 10 speakers.

Could anyone link me to a tried & tested aux cable I could buy? Still trying to find the cheap option, those seem pretty expensive. Cheers anyway :)
