You could remove the pre cat. I have a standard down pipe with pre cat removed forsale as of next week it will be in the forsale section with the cat.

What difference to performance and noise does removing the pre cat make?

Slightly deeper exhaust note and maybe 5bhp

I have a 3" exhaust (no cats at all) all the way back to a non-resonated milltek backbox and I think it sounds amazing. When you're not on it, it sounds almost exactly like stock but perhaps a TINY bit louder from the inside but as soon as you start going into boost it makes an awesome roar.

I can probably make a video if you want showing what it's like?

I'd be very interested in this if you found time :-)

I'll make a video tomorrow then. I'll include bits showing what it's like driving around sensibly and what it sounds like when you put your foot on the loud pedal.  :happy2:

Hi mate,
I de-catted my standard downpipe and didn't notice any difference in noise whatsoever. I didn't remove the pre-cat though. Then I fitted a bcs de-cat downpipe (mated to standard cat-back) and now I love the sound.

Thanks.

Not really the best videos and the sound does absolutely no justice to what the car sounds like in real life but might be useful anyway...

First video shot from inside, when I'm not putting my foot down the car is pretty much the same as stock...
NkuOw

Videos from outside...

NkuOw&index=2
NkuOw

Probably worth mentioning my car also has an Audi S3 engine with a cold air intake and a stage 2 map from r-tech... lol

I have a eurojet decat mated to a standard cat back on my ED30... It makes slightly more noise but nothing over the top. Most noticeable on tickover while cold.

I'd agree with this , as I've got a full decat system with non res miltek , and just driving round normal it's not loud at all , it's a deeper tone than stock but not loud , but when on it , it sounds mint :)

How much did that all cost, just watched your videos and it sounds incredible! Also what intake do you have?
