Title: Revo remap
Post by: Johnmcgti on August 29, 2014, 12:58:31 pm
Was thinking about getting my gti remapped, I'm running a 3' turbo back exhaust and cai, has anyone had a stage 1 revo map? If so is there a big difference in power  and what figures would I be likely to see .

Figures wise i'd say north of 240 but no higher than 265 after all its not about figures but about the drivability of the map. Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong but i think generic Revo maps are fairly aggressive maps compared to the likes of R-Tech custom maps which can be either linear or aggressive depending on your chosen option but i think linear is better and I'm confident thats what a lot of people on here will also say..

Revo is good and not agressive and also has a linear option allthough apparently r-tech linear mapping is a better option.. U wont go wrong with either.. Revo used to be the most rated but r-tech has took over nowadays

R-Tech will give you a map tailored EXACTLY to your hardware and the condition of your engine. It's a more personal service and is typically more exiting watching Niki undertake a health check and several dyno runs while he perfects the tuning of your car than a man upload a map from a laptop, do a bit of logging and send you on your way.

Aftercare with R-Tech is second to none, he will always help you out if you have any problems.

It's substantially cheaper than Revo too as he doesn't have the overhead costs that big businesses have.  :happy2:

Have a look in the Revo & R-Tech sections on the forum to help make your mind up

Is the r-tech stage 1/2 a full custom map or a base map tweaked?

I believe it's a full custom map.

After speaking to Niki from R-tech and seeing some of his recent posts I would either visit him or if you want a big brand generic map then go APR, as they map similarly to him i.e they don’t map into the surge point on the turbo and he highly rates them as generic maps go. Plus it’s free upgrades from stage to stage. :happy2:

Thanks for the advice,  I'll probably go for a custom map don't want anything too aggressive as the misses drives the car too.
Hopefully over the next few weeks I'll get a bigger intercool and then give r tech a ring   :happy2:

Bear in mind with apr, REVO and probably with r-tech you can have multiple files or settings, easily switchable if you wanted it less powerful for your other half to drive  :happy2:

I have Stage 2 Revo software along with the SPS box and like it.
