Title: Alloy Wheel Help
Post by: gazrn on August 30, 2014, 07:22:53 am
I aint sure if I have offended the mk5 community in any way I have posted a few questions lately and have zero replies on any of them so here goes one last try, I know there is a lot of info about this topic and there is a great couple of threads but I just want to canvas everyone for there personal opinions, I have just fitted a set of H&R (30mm drop) springs and am looking to fit new wheels. There is a minefield of wheel sizes and offsets, I want the wheels to sit nice and flush in the arches what would be the best combination of wheel size and offset. I tried a mates 18' rs4 wheels (8j offset 43) off his TTS and they had a kinda tractor look about them even with the springs fitted.

Any advice (even just one reply  :signLOL:) would be ideal, cheers guys.

8x18 with either 215 40 or 225 40 on your springs probably 225 40 on 18" wheels don't worry about offsets fella you can buy spacers to get the wheels exactly where you want them

get the wheels you want then get them to fit how you want them too

we have a great wheel and tyre thread on the forum

sometimes we post and get no response try posting a picture of your car maybe on standard wheels and your mates wheels give people more to talk about its not personal we don't even know you  :happy2:

I really love the monzas but the just look too small. I have been looking at some borbet CC's or F's has anyone got any fitted.

Get 18"x8" ET44 (around that offset will be good) and no spacers, end off. Most aftermarket wheels come in that size.

Would 215/40 or 225/40 tyres suit better with that wheel size pal ?

when really low 215's are better but your height 225's are good

I have my bbs vzs listed in the for sale section and they are et44 and fill the arches really well.

As danoy says 225 are fine. Screw delete mod if needed but that about all you'll need to do.
