Title: Gear shift
Post by: Markweir12 on September 02, 2014, 10:16:05 am
Hi,

Just a few questions on regards to the gear shift - in second + third the stick is quite clunky.

Also, between the lower gears, the car drags back when I change gear (like engine movement I think)

Is this normal or not and can I change it to make it feel smoother?

Thanks

Have you tried slowing down the gear changes to see if that makes any difference? The other half has the same problem in his Leon cupra which is a constant battle when driving it hard. Could be a flywheel issue although don't hold me to it.

Might be knackered dog bone mount, or engine mounts

Its the same constantly :(

I can live with it for now but will sort it when funds allow.

Where would I find "dog bone" mount?

Thanks

Can anyone link me to the bush insert I need to stop so much engine movement?

Thanks :)

This will help:

Maybe worth a gearbox oil change too, I did mine recently and the shifts are much smoother  :happy2:
