Title: Best place for 3M headlight restoration kit
Post by: homesqueeze on September 05, 2014, 07:13:24 pm
Going to get one of these and just wondered if anyone knew any good deals or places to buy it. About £18 is the cheapest I've seen anywhere. Cheers.

Cheers guys. I've tried the meguiars one and it barely does anything, hence why I'm going to give the 3M a go.

If yours is the 3M one skard how much would you want for it?

I've used the Meg's one and got good results - i did have to wet sand my headlights though, which was something originally that i wasn't happy about having to do but it was the only way to restore them.

I have wet sanded mine before and it was great, but the haze has come back again over a couple of years. It took so long to do it though I can't take the hassle of doing it again. I have got myself a 3M kit  from Skard now anyway, hopefully this will be a bit easier.

I can completely understand this, took me hours to do mine.

Did you regularly seal your headlights after restoring them with sealant and/or wax? Not good to hear the hazing has come back but if you didn't protect your headlights then the return of the haze isn't to be unexpected.

Yeah I did seal them regularly with collinite to try and protect them, but it still came back. I think it might be because I didn't quite manage to remove all the corrosion right at the edges when I sanded them, and it has spread back from these points.

Hopefully it won't require as much graft, second time around.
