Ok so im currently running on p zero rosso on the ed30 and to be honest ive been happy, although I have a couple of questions and although ive read pretty much everything that a forum search brings up, im still left with a couple of unanswered questions that I thought someone on here may of already worked out or have an opinion on and thought id see what response I get:
1. There seem to be a few variants of the Pirelli P Zero Rosso XL for my size fitment – one is approx. £90 and the other £130 a corner – both seem to be identical in specification, and this is the same across multiple sites, camskill, mytyres etc – does anyone know what the differences are with these seemingly identical tyres?
2. The P Zero Rosso seems a decent tyre, but as they only seem to last me 6 months, and with 300+BHP through the front tyres and with winter around the corner – can anyone recommend, from personal experience, any alternatives that may tick the boxes, mainly being on par or better that the P Zero Rosso in the wet, and can handle the power ok in the dry? I have moderate wheelspin in 1st and 2nd in the dry and even in 4th in the wet.

Can't comment on the P Zeros, but from all the tyre threads we have on the forum, GoodYear Eagle F1 Assy 2's are widely regarded as excellent tyres for the GTI.
More recently, the Michelin Pilot Supersport has come out well. These are standard fitment on Ferarris :jumping:

I've recently fitted them and am very impressed, traction and lateral grip is better than on any other tyres I've used :happy2:

Had p zero Rosso on my previous 317bhp mk1 focus Rs and hated them, removed them with 6mm tread remaining and fitted Michelin pilot sport 3s which were amazing compared to the p zero, I now have michelin ps3 on my gti and wouldnt have anything else personally although my wife has Bridgestone potenza on her Mk5 Gt tdi which also seem very good too but as for Pirelli its a big no from me
Focus actually put the power down in 2nd and 3rd on the ps3's instead of lighting front end up constantly on p zero

id be interested in knowing this. i brought an ed30 with 2 brand new Pirelli P Zero Rosso. both of my rears are low so will need replacing soon

I have always had the plain P Zero on mine and been very happy. If you wear through them in 6 months then I doubt much else will fair any better.

I've been to a local performance tyre specialist, he also rates the Michelin ps3, as well as Dunlop Max rt and finally suggested the vredestein sessanta.
