Post by: K9 on September 15, 2014, 03:09:21 pm
Hey, i'm about to machine polishe my tornado red gti so i can get the light clearcoat scratches away for good.
So i asked for a price and guy told me about 170£ -> it would cost me.

can someone recommend a good starter DA machine and good pads and polish, wax, seland, to use with the machine`?

I got a das6 pro for £99.95
Auto finesse paint restoration, 3pads and 3 polishes with so,em other stuff I'm the box, think it was about £65 off amazon.
Jetseal 109 sealant for £22 I think. So altogether it's a little more than he'd be charging, then you've got all you mf towels and drying towels etc

Cleanyourcar.co.uk. Have a look on page 2 on the detsiling section I put a post with a code to get it for that price.
The auto finiesses kit has 3 pads with it.

I'm no expert but to start I'd suggest heavy cutting pad, medium cutting pad and final finish pad. This would depend on the severity of the swirls on your car.

I'm sure someone with better knowledge than me will be along soon with another light on the subject.

Maybe a little more expensive, but I find the Meguiar's DA and Microfibre System to be very effective. Worth the extra IMO

Autofinesse do a whole kit including the da, they come with three compounds and 3 pads each labeled 1,2 and 3.

I have got the auto finesse kit as well, not that I have used it yet need to get down the scrap yard and grab a couple of panels to practice on before I go all gun ho on my car.
