Ok guys
the chestnut......which oil would be best for my 2005/6 gti
it's done 110k the oil has been changed regularly is it time to use 5w-40
or stick to the 5w-30?
by the way it's bog  standard

I've started using 5w-40 as it's able to deal with higher engine temperatures seen on turbo charged engines (if I'm correct). If you like to use the full rev range, perhaps 5w-40 would be better long term, but otherwise there's little, if any, different at standard tune.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, I only know the real basics.
