Title: Shortage of GY f1's?
Post by: Bane on September 23, 2014, 05:16:41 pm
Went to the tyre fitters last week and ordered up another pair of Good Year F1 NCT2 assy's and waited for the call to let me know they were here.
Never got it.
Went in today to see if they had arrived only to be told that thier supplier couldn't get the tyres I requested and would not be able to get them until the end of October!
I couldn't really wait that long,as the front tyres were on an advisory from the MOT so I bought the Efficientgrips that they had in stock. :sad1:

I really expect to be paying for another pair in about six months time...

Efficientgrips are the standard road tyre in Good Years range.I bought Efficientgrip Perfomance.
They are a low rolling resistance(fuel saving),wet weather tyre.Actually, they are pretty bloody quiet on the road but I suspect that they are a harder compound than the F1's ,hence the fact that I think they'll be fecked by march.

Apparently, they've been awarded a best buy by Which? so they must be okay. :happy2:

Had these on my ed30, they are actually great tyres - although the Michelin Pilot Supersport I have now are mucho better

Get conti 5's then. Rated best tyre 2014 by Evo mag. Tested on a mk7 golf GTI running 225/40/18

I thought the EVO tyre test was done with 225/45/17.
