Title: Parking light issues.
Post by: mk4gti-t on September 26, 2014, 06:45:04 am
So I fitted some genuine hella headlights with projectors and he'd a few weeks ago. All seemed to be working OK until I flicked to high beam and after a few minutes the left parking light out warning came on. So off with the headlights and back on again and all was OK. Flicked high beam on and this time got the right parking light out warning??? Whenever I turn the high beam on it seems to knock out one of the side lights? Any ideas?

By he'd, do you mean HID conversion...  I've heard of some kits, particularly cheaper ones, causing canbus issues due to voltage spikes. Are the parking lights actually affected? Worth checking earth connections too, in case it's looking for an alternative path?

Yea sorry hid kit. It's a decent one from hid's direct. Not sure if the lights actually go out, just going on what the warning said. I'll have a look outside the car tomorrow.
