Title: Front splitter/lip options?
Post by: TomGTI on September 27, 2014, 09:07:28 pm
Hi all

I've just picked up my new Pirelli there is a front splitter but it isn't very low the sides are low but the centre goes up and there is no edge like the ED30 or standard GTI.

There is no damage so it is as it should does any one know why?

I want a lower front lip either ed30 or vortex or something similar, I've had a look online but can't find much can some one point me in the right direction ?

My car is reflex silver
Thanks

Sounds like you have a standard GTI splitter on your Eddy?

Either VW for an Eddy one (thought these were on the Pirelli)  or Kunzmann for a VOTEX one.

Its like a edition 30 and gti just with no lower centre bit-I'm a bit confused why really.

I'll have a look any idea how much they are?

Thanks

£250-£300 from VW or £250 from Kunzmann.

My thoughts exactly. A pic would clarify our doubts.

I can't get a photo right now but I'll google GT splitter and see what pictures I can find.

Thanks

I got mine from American ebay. Votex rep, cheap as chips and fit well.

Thanks for that.

I have the top one why do you think that is? Do you think it was retro fitted?

Maybe the previous owner didn't like the original spoiler or couldn't have it because it limits the access to some driveways or garages.

I know my current one has rub marks all over and I can't enter some garages.

Nowadays you can get an ABS rep from ebay for about 120 £: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261528780480 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261528780480)

Is yours body colour or black plastic Tom? I was going to say the above or maybe the previous owner cracked it or something and didnt want to pay out the silly amount for the oem replacement so bought a cheaper one

Was it in a crash? From the photo the headlamp looks like it has a grey inner.

Its colour coded just like the top photo Joe.

I've not studied it but it all looks pretty factory I'm a little confused, I want a proper one but they are crazy money may have to get a eBay rep.
