I know, we can all be careless and only check tyres when there's a problem, but I'm guilty of not checking mine for a few months now (well, more like a few years actually) and I'm shocked at the condition.
I've no problem with the rears as it looks like there's a few miles on them yet, but the fronts are terrible. One side appears to have worn more than the other so maybe there's some weight distribution issues, but they appear to be wearing evenly so I reckon the alignment is good at least.

So, is it worth just scrapping the mower, should I leave it as is and risk it, or would anyone recommend getting new tyres?
Given the state of the wheels I'm thinking maybe refurbing them, so any recommendations on colours?
Thanks in advance. I know things like this get posted all the time but I did a search and nothing relevant came up. :signLOL:

What spec are those?
-
I dunno. The wheels/tyres were fitted already when I bought the mower some 15 years ago, and there's no spec on the sidewall at all.
-
I'm going out to check mine now :scared:

Just got new wheels and tyres all around on mine.

Apologies for posting a Honda. Vtec is immense for those long straights on the garden though.

Weird how the tyres on the driven wheels have plenty of tread.
Maybe you could fit a Haldex unit?
-
Driven wheels? Pah, mine's a push mower with recoil start. None of this key start and drive wheels stuff.
I think the lack of tread on the fronts is due to the cornering and turning at the end of each push.

Danmaytee are those genuine BBS or reps?
-
Genuine of course. Very rare in 7x1.5 though ;)
