Title: Rear brake light strip no working
Post by: GTIdanman on September 28, 2014, 05:25:55 pm
Hi all. Have recently had problems with broke wires in the rubber conduit that runs from the boot lid to the body. I had 3 issues... rear wiper not working, rear window heater not working and brake light strip not working. I was told to fix the wires in the conduit as it was a common issue for the to break with over use of the boot. I have done this and managed to fix the wiper and heater  :jumpmove: but can't get the brake light working? There doesn't seem to be any other broken wires and all fuses are fine! Is there any othe common reasons for the brake light strip not working? Have looked at changing the bulbs/unit but that seems like a big job for something that should be simple. Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Sometimes the insulation looks intact but the wiring has failed internally so testing with a multi meter will be required.
Or
It may be a case of a new unit if so this is worth a read.
