Title: Seat cover-seat protection
Post by: TomGTI on September 30, 2014, 10:24:55 am
Hi

I need a single seat cover to protect my seat and bolster in my Pirelli, what do people recommend with out spending hundreds for a cover?

I want it to keep the seat clean as well as protect it?

Thanks

I got a set of ebay, with the GTI logo on them, good heavy duty ones.
Just one thing to be aware of, is to make sure they are airbag friendly !

I see if i can find a link.  :happy2:

I ordered one of those last week and sent it straight back as fitment was terrible
Best ones are £24.99 from over seas seller called repro or something like that, had them from him in both my focus Es and escort Rs turbo and they are fully tailored fit to the seat with Recarro logo or whtever you choose

Only my oppinion mate  :happy2:

Only noticed they had one left ! Lucky you !  :jumpmove:

Dude just make sure it will be suitable for the drives side seat, as it will have a slit down the right hand side for airbag saftey....

I found the fitment, a bit tight at first, but seems to be ok now...

It say money back guarantee and airbag safe so It should be fine but I will see what fitment is like when it arrives.

As long as it doesnt damage the seat when the cover stretches.

I always thought about that, i suppose something could be custom made for the bolsters.

An idea i had, was the clear stuff taxi drivers use to protect there seats, but just for the bolsters !

Yeah, that's why i always be extra careful getting in and out from the car. Always have to remind my better half to do the same though she finds that is annoying.
If you managed to make it happens using that method, please share with us

I think they would be easy enough made, its just trying to keep them in the same place, without falling off  :surprised:

Maybe something like an elastic strap, to go round the back of the seat, dunno.com

much the same as a bra !  :rolleye: the bolsters could be, like wide gapped bobbies....  :fighting:

I managed to teach the kids (4 years old) not to step on the cills when getting in and out of the car but the wife is untrainable.

Just fitted mine if anything its too loose and abit saggy looking - which isn't the look I'm after.
