Hi all,
I'm having an issue with my '05 MK5 GTI
This morning when driving to town, I noticed the EPC light had come on, so I pulled over and restarted the engine. The light came on after a few seconds followed by the engine light. There is no warning text on the screen though so I turned around to get the car home which was about 2 miles. On the way back, I noticed that I wasn't able to accelerate like previously. It is as if there is a limiter to reduce the performance or something.
The work done to the car recently by a VW garage is a new intercooler hose (the last one was leaking apparently), new front disks and pads plus front bearings and CV boots.
I had a VagCom some time ago but I cannot find it, if I do I will paste the errors on here
In the meantime does anyone have any suggestions on what this might be?

I had it with mine as a misfire, new coil packs did it. But it could be all manor of things!
-
I had similar happen and it was the throttle body.
-
Could be worth checking the intercooler hose.
But the EPC light is usually a dead throttle body, scan it to be sure, then replace with a Revision Q.

I had same with me and it was the plugs. I had the nology silver ones in. Took them out and put some ngks in and never done it again.

I'm hoping it wont be too expensive! I still can't find that VagCom device, I've looked everywhere!
I don't supposed there is anyone on the Isle of Man with one? :)

Both lights have remained off since yesterday and I haven't changed anything! - This feels like good news but is there something I should do to check everything is okay - Maybe the garage knocked a sensor or something when fitting the inter-cooler hose?
-
Could be ton of things I suppose, maybe it was just feeling temperamental? :fighting:

I ended up buying a new Micro-CAN so I have some results:
There are minor issues with the automatic windows and radio which I won't bore you with here  , so this is just the engine section of the log:

1st one is no doubt a split DV, visiually check it... or boost pipe popped off.
2nd one, throttle pedal foo
