Title: MK5 GTi Steering Wheel Buttons Upgrade and Bluetooth Help!
Post by: Mario88 on October 06, 2014, 06:36:24 pm
Hi everyone!

I was told that as my car is a DSG GTi, the steering wheel was already set up for the buttons to be installed i.e. all the wiring and clips are there, just need the buttons and they clip in.

Can anybody confirm if this is correct or incorrect and maybe point me in the right direction for where to buy?

Also I have an RNS510 Version C fitted in the car and want bluetooth for my phone. Ive seen many different kits to make it all work.. Is there a kit to make it all work perfectly? i.e. with the buttons on the wheel, maybe with all contact showing up on highline screen and on headunit etc?

Thanks all! :)

Hello mate,

Do you have the paddles to change gear behind your steering wheel ? if so then as far as i'm aware all you would need are the actual buttons themselves as a direct replacement for the blank covers that are currently in place. You should be able to buy them direct from the dealers. I don't know if they are a straight plug in and play item or you would need someone to code them in for you but i'm sure someone will be along shortly to give you more info. Good luck and let us know how you got on if you buy the,.  :happy2:

With regard to the buttons yes they are just clip and go.
You will of course need to remove the air bag to do this,do a search and you should find comprenhensive fitting instructions.
Source them both on EBay UK and Germany.
