I may change my standard leather seats for R32 leather.
My seats are currently heated, would the R32 plugs be the same to make it an easy install??
Anyone else already done this who could help would be great.
Cheers

Depends on the seats and what car they came out of!
Some seats are heated, some are. I think they changed plugs around 2006
-
R32's are the same arnt they? Or do you mean the bucket seats? I imagine they would fit the same since theyll have the same frames ect
-
I know the seats will bolts straight in place of whats there now, it was more of the electrical plugs for the lumbar support and heat I was thinking of.
Spoke to the guy selling last nite, nice guy who races mk2's and has bought this R32 to race so stripping it. Only 1 hour away so may go have a look this weekend.

Think plugs changed in 08 you can buy the plugs from vw and depin them
-
Just swap the head rests :signLOL:

When you say R32 leather, I presume you're talking about the optional Recaro seats? These weren't fitted to every leather-clad R32, if you spec'd standard leather you'd have got the same leather seats as the GTI :happy2:

Sorry to hijack the thread but it may be relevant...
Would MK4 R32 leather seats fit Mk5 gtis? As I heard that the leather used in Mk4s are better than the current leather used for Mk5s. Correct me if I am wrong?
-
no they wouldn't. Runners are totally different. May be able to retrofit them but not easy or documented.
-
Plus the time and effort into that would be better spent buying after market seats and mounting frames.

Unless im missing something here, whats wrong with the mk5 Gti leather seats? Love mine
