Looking for a k03 gti £5,800 budget.
Dsg/manual
Black/white/red
Modified/standard
Clean/no damage
Ideally cam follower,PCV and dv replaced
Not essential but any of these: MFSW HighLine cruise Xenons would be good but as I said not essential as I'll source them over the next few months.
Let me know what you got or if you know someone selling
I'm in SURREY/Gatwick
Look forward to hearing/seeing some of you soon :happy2:

I thought you sold up to get an R?
-
No mate, that was the plan, but sold to put our savings upto deposit amount for our first home.
Weve now saved over twice as much as we need, so my misses wants a new car (a3) And
I'm
" aloud to buy another standard gti which I can't mod " as I'm forever winging how slow the type r is
I'm sure this new gti will stay standard..........

Can get a 3 door, 7R, 10k miles per year, tax paid for term, 24 months, £148+VAT a month... no reason to spend six grand up front, tax, service, tyres, problems.
Surely, that's a better sell to the Mrs.
-
hope you'll find the specs you wanted soon.. i sold mine in 2013 but cant resist to own another GTI..bought 1 exactly 1 month ago..happy hunting :happy2:

I'm not totally convinced by the Ad, as there are a few errors to it, what do people think?
I need talking out of it.

Dead money tho and never your car unless you front up the £20,000+ outstanding amount after the 2 years!
It is a great deal these lease firms are doing but it does have its negatives aswell as positives!
£2000 deposit is lost straight away before you even drive the thing
Been considering this deal myself but struggling to stomach the losses over 2 years!

You'd never own a new car like that though mate... it's a £30k car, if you bought that outright, you'd lose the same if not more money in depreciation over the term and you've exposed your £30k to sit on the driveway, never knowing what you'll get for it come exchange time.
We cannot directly compare a lease on a brand new car against anything but a brand new car purchase, as they simply aren't the same thing.
Then there's things like free tax, doubtful you'd need tyres or brakes over the term either...
I'd also worry about buying one, with all these cheap leases, it's going to really affect the resale value, once all those 2/3 year old lease cars hit the market.

My GTI is up for sale, only need to take the air off it... £6k in standard form, cruise, leather, xenons, sunny roof etc, to a forum member
Although not red/white/black, silver is basically like white.. :ashamed: :happy2:

That is all very true mate
Never thought about it like that with all the lease deals etc :-(
-
Taking it all into account (deposit / fees etc.) it's ~£230 per month for 24 months - so if you write off £230 a month for your car ownership, then you can have a brand new 300bhp Golf R (or similar) every two years on the drive.
That said, there is something quite souless about the whole thing - I think most of us tend to get attached to our cars, modify them, look after them... with a lease, that's somewhat removed, and it ends up just another chunk of metal.
-
Lease is pointless in my eyes, pay £2,000 deposit £4,000 in instalments and you don't even own it :stupid: was just courious about that price lol.
Jay, sorry dude I'm set on a white/red/black 3 door I'm afraid, shame to split yours but rocco should be cool :happy2:
-
Only had my minty 57 plate 3dr fully loaded Gti a couple of months and i absolutely love it :-)
Such a cracking all round car and completely standard just how she is staying :-)
Modded my previous mk1 focus Rs and really regretted it afterwards
Stick with the mk5 mate, cant go wrong

I may have a 3 Door Black, Xenon, Cruise, Chrome pack, 2 sets of 18 inch Monzas with brand new premium rubber on both Summer/Winter, recent Throttle body (Q), Alternator, Battery (Varta Silver 5 year warranty), Spark Plugs, Exhaust, 12 months MOT (no advisories), just serviced with pads all round inc. new brake fluid, Oil/filter Edge, new blades front and back - just not sure whether I should lease or not.
-
Let me know if you sell up dude
