Title: Wheel bearing
Post by: dan930 on October 13, 2014, 11:24:19 pm
A very stupid question for you all...I'm getting steering wheel vibration when braking from 50mph & when turning at speeds of 80+ on the motorway, also get a weird humming noise between 60-70 & 80-85(steering wheel vibrates a little too when I get the noise)any chance it be the wheel bearing

if there's some vibration under braking then it might be a warped disc? wheel bearing is normally just noise or if really bad a constant vibration (in my experience). I assume your wheels are balanced properly, tyre pressures correct and no spacers or spigot rings or wobble bolts?

I would check the wheel nuts and hub nut for tightness incase anything is loose!
Then it's a case of systematically working through various items as suggested in previous posts.
