Title: mk5 gti going stage 1 clutch slip ?
Post by: jake-w07 on October 14, 2014, 08:04:52 pm
Hi all my mk5 gti is going in for a custom remap. Im just wondering wether people have experienced clutch slip after going stage 1?

My car has done over 100k and i dont think its had a clutch before but has had any easy life with mainly motorway miles. I had my mk4 anni remapped to 215bhp and id say 6 months later it began to slip so i had it replaced. The anni had done similar miles to the mk5 but obviously there both diff cars

So should i be pricing up a clutch? After the remap

Chances are it will go at some point soon, but might do another 20000 miles, you never know but I would plan for one in the near future  :happy2:

If your selling the car then don't bother with the map, saves any chance of needing a new uprated clutch.

+1 could end up costing you £1000+ for a few months of extra power. And the weathers turning so you cant use it as much

Yeah is true should just be sensible and keep the money for an r32 but its so tempting!
