Evening all,
Before I go crawling around underneath the car tomorrow morning, I'm hoping to try and pick some of your brains. When pulling away (taking up drive to around 5 to 10MPH) and braking to a stop. I'm getting some rather funky clunks, knocking and gentle grinding (appears to sound like it). The cars been making some slightly knocks for the past 4 months since the front ARB and lower mount was replaced (vibra-technics) and I expected the occasional knock, but its now starting to sound terrible. Its also worth noting that I can feel the clunking through the pedals and steering wheel.
Can any of you think where to focus my attention? At the minute, I'm thinking any one of the following:
- CV Joints,
- Engine/gearbox mounts,
- Loose caliper,
- shagged wishbone bushes,
- Loose subframe,
- Drop links,
Thanks in advance guys and gals!

All of the above really. I would probably start with the subframe, do you have the revised bolts on yours?
-
I'd imagine so. It's a 2011 scirocco.

Also add this to your list as it's the easiest to tick off.
My last car had same symptoms. I got new locknuts put on by garage which were too long. The nut was actually going right through and banging off something on the inside.
Have you recently changed lock nuts, removed wheel?

Nope, nothings recently been changed.
I've got it up on axle stands and apart from a few slack bolts, nothing majors standing out. There's no play in the CVs, shafts, wishbones etc. I'm going to have another look around tomorrow morning and systematically work my way from the O/S to N/S.

Mine is doing this after fitting front arb and I'm suspecting something with the subframe or front console bolts.

If I find anything tomorrow, I'll stick it on here. I have a feeling the rubber mallet might be coming out to play...
