Title: Bad news for Mk7 Golf owners?
Post by: Bazgti on October 20, 2014, 11:52:02 am
Has anybody else heard the whispers circulating about blown turbos particularly on GTI and R models? Asking whether this was because of the cars being remapped. It turns out standard, un fettled cars are blowing them too with VW refusing to admit the problem.

I was told by a very well respected name in the VAG world.

Heard about it on the R forum. The part has been revised and they're being replaced under warranty.

Oh dear, back to the Mk5 GTI/Ed30 for engine/turbo reliability then; VW can't seem to break away from the TFSI K03/K04.

There's problems with the 7R DSG clutches too, isn't there?

Been mentioned on this forum a couple of times too. Newer models have a revised part  :happy2:

This is why your best waiting a couple of years before buying a new model to give the manufacturers time to fix teething problems

Suppose breaking away from the TFSI is like them breaking away from the 1.8t before it. The old block was bullet proof and was slotted into most of the range at one point.
