Has anyone had an issue with their polar FIS+ units, whereby you have to remove it to get the car to start?
I installed mine yesterday, worked great, was impressed by its functions. Finish work at 1am, only to find the car wouldn't start, all fault lights on dash etc. so after getting random lifts, manage to get the car started at 2.30am by simply removing the polar box! was left with an airbag warning light on the screen.
Cleared all the codes today, reinstalled the new software yet again. plugged the box back in, car starts up the dash beeps a few time, the clocks stop working, warning lights flash a few times, then everything back to normal again :fighting:
I wonder what time I'll get home tonight then.....
Should have waited the 6 weeks and bought a P3 I think.............

I had a problem with mine to start with.... but then found one of the plugs loose :surprised:
Its worked flawlessly since.
-
I checked the plugs. The long one in the back doesn't clip in which is a worry, although it was in tight when I tried it. Was going to cable tie it in, but there isn't enough plastic either side to get a hold onto
-
Maybe the unit is faulty. Contact the PolarTeam in their forum. I think they give a good after-sales support, for what I've read.
My unit never had any issue, fortunately.
Sometimes it's just a faulty cable too.

What firmware are you running? I know they are having problems with version 4.5. Try flashing 4.4 and see how you go. Are you joined on the polar forum?

They are a bit of a pain.... if you are good at stroking dogs through letter boxes you'll be fine!

I think your problem lies in the firmware, lots of people are having the same problem with 4.5. Lots have sorted it by reflashing 4.4
-
I'm still using version 4.4 firmware as there seems to be a few folk still having issues with the latest "fixed" 4.5 version.

Same here. I'd reflash 4.4 firmware just to be sure your unit is fine.

I'm using 4.4 also, I never flashed 4.5, I always wait until all the bugs are worked out

It's not hard to install, just the position where the CAN is makes it a bit of a pain.
I used insulation tape to fix my box to one of the metal bars above the pedals, so I can connect an USB cable or mess with the box without worrying if it's going to fall and disconnect the cable.
You can download the installation instructions from their site and forum.

Hey mate. When you get your new Bluetooth Fiscon kit fitted, you'll have an extra menu with more functions than standard anyway.

All I had to do is disconnect the battery, pull out the cubby hole below the light switch, unclip the relay holder, reach behind and pull the Can gateway out, unplug it, job done,.
Car started straight away tonight, looks like the cable ties did their job hopefully.
Out of curiousity, how low do peoples battery voltage go to when the enginbe isn't running?
Thanks for all the advice so far folks :happy2:

12V normally on mine, runs at 14V when engines going :happy2:

Old battery 11,9V-12V and 12,4V with new battery. 14V or near when engine's running (depends how much stuff you have turned on).

Thanks for info, wasn't sure as mine goes down to about 11.7v after its been sitting, but straight to 14.4v when engine is running
