Title: R32/Ed30 Rear Lights
Post by: rdfcpete on November 11, 2009, 10:22:47 pm
Guys,

Do the R32 rear lights and the Edition 30 rear lights differ cosmetically?

I was quoted £158xx something including VAT to purchase the Edition 30 lights from the dealers by phone. Two weeks later, I went in all set to purchase and the chap I spoke to suddenly had a different story explaining that they're both the same light clusters and in fact, I could only purchase the R32 lights at the higher price of £220 odd inc VAT.

To me there's a subtle difference otherwise they wouldn't have been priced differently? Fairly obvious imo.

Bit WTF  :stupid:- How true is this? Is he a Moron or correct?
Obviously I can only go with what he says but I know for a fact other users have purchased the ED30 lights for about £160 from the dealers. Because they seem to be rare and ebay doesn't have a constant supply, is there any alternative static supplier?

Appreciate some pointers.
Thanks,

Pete.

Fairplay.

Why's the price differ TC?
Or is he just incompetent at this job? I wish I had recorded the blower call.

Cheers.

He probably gave you the price for standard pinkies, not realizing there was a difference. Though the R32 ones may be heavier thinking about it.   :pomppomp:

LOL Std pinkies are £160?!       FFS...

Oh heavier, really - are they? I genuinely can't find a set on the net so it's a breaking Ed30 only I suppose which pains me to see anyway  :sad1: :surprised:

A decent bodyshop can do a great job tinting with the right stuff. My reflectors have been sprayed on my bumper and they just look exactly the same as the darkened lenses.  :happy2:
