Hello everyone.
Iv done a handful of group buys on here including the Depo Xenon look lights if you dont remember!
Might have pieced together a group buy on 310mm rear setups consisting of the following from my suppliers when I used to do retrofits:
- New (not refurbs) TRW 310mm complete carriers and calipers in podwercoated R32 blue with 3yr guarantee
- 310mmx22mm New MTEC Rear vented rotors with these options (drilled / Drilled+grooved / grooved / Dimpled + grooved
- Brakepad fitting kit
Priced delivered ~ £399
If you want pads they can be priced up separately
Hoses and hardlines are transferred from your stock calipers (if you want new ones can price these up for you too)
Splash guards can be supplied if desired but not always fitted routinely due to amount of modification needed to get them to fit (4motion differ to 2wd rear hubs etc)
*NOTHING WILL GO AHEAD WITHOUT ADMIN APPROVAL*
This is purely to gauge interest and if admins are happy and there is enough interest for this then I will sort things out to make it happen.
Please post below :happy2:
Cheers, Omar

This couldn't have came at a better time, if it goes ahead I'm after discs and pads
-
Which company will be selling the parts?
-
@PaulED30 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9756) - Great stuff! Im still finalising prices and MOQ etc so keep your eyes peeled :happy2:
@rich83 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=709) - I am getting them direct. Pads will also come from MTEC where possible.
-
Ok...
Just be aware that normal forum members cannot run GBs.

Suggestion - Possible to offer the rear calipers in other colours to attract more buys? I have some already, but I went for Audi S3 rears to match my black from brakes. Just a thought...
-
Getting payment terms sorted with admin currently so green light should be given soon.
In the meantime please continue to post if you are interested in this group buy. Keep your eyes peeled for updates! :happy2:
@th3_f15t (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=8969) - Thanks, Ill see if I can get more colours but the offer will be on blue. TRW does silver , black and blue iirc so shouldnt be an issue getting those too hopefully.
-
UPDATE: Spoken with TRW and they can send out these calipers and carriers in RED (Cupra R), BLACK (S3) , SILVER (A3 3.2 v6) and BLUE (R32).
Here are pics I took yesterday of a sample purchase I did in R32 Blue and discs vented, dimpled and grooved. This is so you can get an idea of quality of what you will get which is simply excellent! (Mintex pads set are just for completeness ~£20 extra - fine for street/fast road use)

I would only offer these with brand new hard pipes. They are not cheap, but 80% of the hard pipes I try and swap over cant be swapped over.
Also worth doing them with normal 310mm discs if no one wants drilled/grooved.
-
Thanks Alex!
Normal discs can be supplied without drilled holes, grooves or dimples at buyer's request.
Hardline part numbers are 1k0611763E and 1k0611764L. According to ETKA all rear hardlines are the same for 2wd and 4wd for all Golfs 2004-2012. Cannot confirm this personally but Alex does this work a lot. Of course any used parts must be checked and renewed if damaged, worn or faulty before doing this work.

Correct, the pipes are all the same. They are expensive too!
-
Any more peoples thoughts on this GB?
-
I'm interested.
Red set please, pads too.
Can some one please point me in the direction of info on the "hard line" issue? Must they come only from vw?
How much exactly is "expensive"?
Thanks
-
@omeydz (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=5522) how many sets required for GB... have you sorted out payment terms with them yet?
-
Could you add in some disc prices for the group buy might get more interest :happy2:
-
Would a braided hose kit for the rear be a better option over the hardlines and O.E Hoses?
-
Hello everyone.
In response to some questions:
- Hardlines to fit onto the back of the caliper piston housing to the hose are a standard part on all mk5s and mk6 vw golfs. They can be swapped straight over to the BBK if they are in good condition. ( not damaged, bent, corroded, leaking etc) . To get new ones from VW are nearly £25 a side (no aftermarket alternatives AFAIK) . So if you can, reuse. Part numbers are on page 1
- People report better pedal feel if braided brake hoses are used vs. OEM rubber hoses. I think jury is out and personally Im happy with OEM. Choice is yours.
- Best value for the parts are to be gotten as a complete package that Iv negotiated for £399 for calipers, carriers and discs.
- Minimum group buy participants is 5 for this to go ahead. (The sample purchase I did is not counted)
(Rich PM coming your way.)
Thanks guys, Keep questions coming and I'll answer them for you.
Cheers, Omar

@omeydz (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=5522) your inbox is full mate
-
Sorry, Inbox cleared now :happy2:
-
Possibly interested. Would these work well in conjunction with the NQSBBK on the front?
-
It is probably unlikely that this GB will go ahead... unless we can somehow run it through alex.
-
UPDATE: Keep your eyes peeled in the Group buy section for 310mm rear BBK setups. Will be going live shortly
Confirming final details and updates from TRW and MTEC this week.
Cheers, Omar :happy2:
-
Would we be able to purchase rear caliper and carrier only? If so what's the price?
-
What is the situation with this GB?
