getting some bbs ch 19"x8j ofset 50 for my mk5 golf which has been lowered--I rang rim style today and the bbs alloys they supply come with 225-35-19 tyre's but i know people have put 235-35-19 tyres on,not sure now which width to go for

I've got 235 as per pm and never had a problem. A 235 wide tyre will obviously give more grip but the sidewalk will be slightly bigger (3mm) but it's worth the extra 10mm on the road

cheers jay-with the ofset being 50 on the alloys i should be ok i take it

ET50 offset is very close to std GTI offset which is ET51 :happy2:

I had this type on my car. They were good alloys, but being lowered quite a bit I had rubbing under compression (not much, but enough to stop me using them on track). I could have lifted the suspension to suit, but I wanted to stay low so sold them to someone more deserving and higher. This was with 235mm tyres, but a narrower tyre may have meant that I would have gotten away with it.

Shouldn't have a problem with the extra width with that offset...
Get the pics up ;)
