I will change oil in my DSG/S-Tronic and Im see that on market we have avalible a lot of manufacturers which make oils for DSG...
Options:
-OEM G052182A2
-Castrol Transmax Dual (LINK (http://www.castrol.com/en_au/australia/products/cars/automatic-transmission-fluids/transmax-dual.html), PDF (http://msdspds.castrol.com/bpglis/FusionPDS.nsf/Files/80FDE3D1C78ACAB880257B8700508761/$File/BPXE-98LUJW.pdf))

-Febi 39071 (PDF (http://www.febi-parts.com/download/sdb39070_GB.PDF))
Which oil chose and why?
I have Stage 3 tuned engine with custom DSG remap...
Also what other parts are needed?
I know that I need:
-VAS6262
-1x 02E305051C (DSG filter + O-Ring)
-1x 02E321363B (DSG Oil Level Pipe)
-2x N0438092 (Drain/Fill Plug Seal)
-6L DSG Oil
-
I would say OEM thats what i used. But mine is stock.
I did not replace the Oil Level Pipe.
-
Im hear that oil level pipe can be easily broken, so is better that I have it on stock :)
I don't see reason using other oil if is same or better quality than OEM one and for same/less price... OEM is most expensive, Castrol is half price of OEM ...
-
I remember looking into this when i did mine. And i'm sure a couple of people said only use oem. I'm no expert i'm sure someone else will jump in and correct me.
-
The Castrol oil looks suitable, however for 100% peace of mind it might be worth going for the VW oil
-
I find it good practice to measure the quantity of oil you remove and record the amount you recharge it with - its surprise me how some have been over filled!
The oil level pipe will only break if you tighten it more than hand tight.
-
I only used 5 litres of oil.
Drained 4.8 litres. Added 5 litres got to temp then drained 200ml.
-
Bit of a revive, but it saves opening up a new thread.
I'm looking at getting the right oil, I can se it says spec G 052 182
I've found some Comma oil which states VW DSG but states spec VW TL 52182.
Anyone know if these specs are different? Or will the Comma oil be suitable

That's the link, ignore the price I can get it at a fraction of the cost.
-
I would recommend you to stay with OEM DSG oil ...
-
I appreciate what your saying but OEM doesn't mean all that much. It's not like VW make the oil, it's someone else's oil rebranded. As long as it matches there standard it's fine to use.
Does anyone know if they are different VW standards or just a revised name?
