Title: New member in Lincs - 2008 GTi DSG

Hi everyone,

After a fair while without a sporty car I'm picking up my 2008 GTi on Friday, 58K on the clock and spec'd with Xenons, leather, DSG, Satnav and 18" Monzas, all wrapped in shadow blue. We have a 2002 Mk4 GTI (non-turbo) which my wife loves but certainly isn't a tyre smoker, so we become a 2 golf household.

Have enjoyed Lotus Sunbeam and a Mk2 16V way in the past, sadly the only "highlight" of recent times has been a volvo C70 T5 (with re-map to 300bhp) which at least could accelerate quickly, if not stop or turn, oops. :laugh:

Really looking forward to giving it a blast through the box and hope to upgrade next year once my current insurance is complete, they won't touch mods and it's a waste of money to ditch them and swap to a specialist.

Certainly going to be keeping an eye in the forums for advice and tips, as a Mk5 forum it's the ideal place.
