Unfortunately my MY06 GTI doesn't have this useful functionality.
Can it be programmed or retrospectively added somehow without silly cost?

No. You need the appropriate mirrors + wiring to be able to do it.
I just do it manually (leave the selector to select left mirror so just move it up/down as required).
-
OK, thanks.
Thought that may be the case :sad1:
-
Yeah I know. It's something that I wanted too along with puddle lights but the cost outweighs the small (but cool) benefits.

....Do you do it with minimum of movement so that anyone watching thinks it's electric? Rather like you used to do when you didn't have electric windows but wanted the girlies to think you did
-
lol ! Never done that myself !! One of my friends had a Mk2 escort with a 1600 crossflow and a 4-speed gearbox. He used to change into 4th twice to make people think he had a 5-speed box !!
On the mirror subject, have you got the hi-line computer ? You can set the mirrors to work in sync using it.
Chris.

I hav eelectric folding mirrors with puddle lights and still can't get this feature working
Apparently, you need a different controller module as well to be able to auto tilt. mortygttdi tried enabling mine in vag-com but it still didn't work unfortunately.

Do you guys set the mirror into position first (can't remember how) and thn make sure the left mirror is selected before you hit reverse?
-
You have to have the side mirror selector set to L - for the mirror to tilt when you put the car into reverse...
-
on mine its the right side mirror that has to be used to move both mirrors when in reverse? Should there be a difference...I'm not going out to check as its still chucking it down.

Do you have the comfort option pack?

Do you have the comfort option pack?
No but i do have a new highline comfort module fitted now :happy2:
Huge thanks to darren :signLOL:
-
You got it sorted?
-
Yes sorted apart from 1 option that I carn't get right and that is the ATA confirm, turn it to ON and the beeps will confirm when unlocking but wont confirm on locking??? every thing else works,
Also people saying xenons cannot be fitted on low spec central electronics boards, Well I did Ollie288's the other day fitted the xenons and coded up and they work fine the coding takes although the bits are not there to tick? you can still mess with the binary coding and get it to work, The only thing you carn't do is activate the coding for shutters.
By the way you can get the mirror folding on reverse if you can find either one of these window regulator(controller) 1K0 959 702N Z93 or 5K0 959 702A Z1W

In the long coding helper this was a tickable option on mine. I checked it and confirmed changes but it didn't work :sad1:
What's the Comfort pack involve? I'm presuming from this I don't have it. Mine probably only has the Winter pack.
-
Wasnt this feature only available on the later GTIs (2007 onwards?) and you also needed the folding mirrors etc (Lux Pack?) for it to work
-
^ You're very likely right.
What does the Lux/Comfort pack actually include?

This may help - http://www.scribd.com/doc/16287603/golf-2007 (http://www.scribd.com/doc/16287603/golf-2007) it gives details of the options

Sorry to re-incarnate an old one, but turns out it's highly relevant - to this http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,16320.msg238472.html#msg238472
:happy2:
What's the difference in the two part numbers you quote please?
I'm suffering the well known window re-opening fault on closing and also VCDS confirms there are errors with the window mechanisms (I forget the exact issues but I'll re-check the log later).
If it is a regulator I need, which one would I need for my 2006 GTI?
Thanks :drinking:

Dont know whether this would help or not!!!
