Title: Road Legal Metal Pressed Plates
Post by: WhiteGTI on December 13, 2008, 08:39:28 am
Ordered some from Dubmeister on Wednesday, and got them through the post this morning!

Absolutely exceptional quality, great service, and 100% road legal. See the link below to their website for more details

http://dubmeister.co.uk/ - then click on 'UK Legal Plates' on the left hand side.

Here are a few photos of mine to give you an idea of the quality / finish!

Yeah - because they are legal, not show plates, so they follow the normal process of obtaining a number plate.

They send them back Special Delivery, so no security fears.

to much hassle for me, not sure why they even do the paperwork thing, criminals will get there plates made by one of the many hundred sellers that don't require papers

Yeah your right about the criminal thing..

If you send the proof of ID/address, with your logbook by special delivery, he will make up and post your plates back out to you (again special delivery) the day that he receives your details. So you will technically only be without your paperwork for a net 2 days!

Chris - Your excellent pics show the undoubted very high quality of your new rear plate. But personally I just don't get the enthusiasm for any metal plate on a car of the current era. On a Mk2 GTI, yes, but not a Mk5.

Just my opinion and the point is that you enjoy them :happy2:

You need one of these : -

No its just £30 but still costs a lot, once you have been pulled a couple of times and warned you get known in the area and get pulled constantly and fined £30 for the pleasure  :rolleye: :rolleye:
I did it for about 11months but cant afford to be pulled, as far as i am aware they are more bothered about the spacing rather than the font.

LOL, are you calling me a 'sexy babe' !!!?  :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

Yeah, I see your point... lets just say that I am trying to bring back some of the pierre de resistance (spelling?) and character of the original Golf to my car!

Hmm,

Like the plates, but is the yellow background reflective as per legal requirements?

I'm waiting on my first pull from the plod for mine.

Apparently I have a holy trinity of no-no's on my plates

1. Ghosting in the background
2. VW Decal on the edge
3. Border around the edge

They will stay on though as long as I don't get pulled too often :happy2:

^^^^

Providing you don't muck around with the letter spacing and it's in a legal font, ANPR will read it correctly and you shouldn't get pulled just for that. Annual MOT will be a different matter though.

100% legal

That close-up shot of the text in the corner of the plate is the mark that denotes that they are fully legal! (BSAU145D)
