Title: Reoccuring 001089 evap emission control fault - PCV?
Post by: homesqueeze on October 31, 2014, 05:34:03 pm
Just wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows the solution. Car is running fine with no issues but every now and then my orange engine light comes on to signify an emissions problem. It generally goes back off again after about a week or so. When my indy scans it after, it always comes up with the 001089 fault code for evap emission control system. As a first try, they replaced the evap valve but this hasn't cured the problem. They are saying that the next possible thing it could be is the charcoal canister but they can't guarantee this will cure it. They also mentioned the PCV as a possibility. I know the PCV is a common problem for people and I have never replaced mine, but would this potentially cause that specific fault code? Any help much appreciated  :happy2:

Have you checked the Ross tech Wiki? Might give you a new angle to look at?
