I have been told by a neighbour that he has seen my brake lights on at 4/5/6am 3 or 4 times since I got the car. They all work normally otherwise and I have no other electrical issues, does anyone know what could cause this? Am I doing something? Cheers

A:your car is frightened of the dark
B:your neighbour is mental
C:there an electrical fault some where on the car
-
It's a faulty brake light switch.......

Possible then it's linked to B. Hopefully.

Unfortunately it can't be B because my car died overnight a while ago and I had no idea what caused it until now.

Cheers mate, I'll have to grab one and see if it does the trick, I'm really hoping this doesn't turn into a saga trying to find so me dodgy electrical issue.

Just bumping this to see if a brake light switch solved the OP's problem.
Having the same issue at the minute and really don't want a flat battery as it will drop my Revo map. Only seems to be happening on really cold evenings.

Yes mate the switch solved it in the end but it was a ballache and I ended up replacing the rear high rise brake light. I was just very unlucky and had some stupid electrical gremlins.

Good job Dan, thanks for getting back to me.
£11 from TPS for a new switch, so I'll fire it in now.

Glad to see you got this sorted...... :happy2:
Real cheap and easy to do. Was doing it on mine and realised it was just the switch? Glad I could help :happy2:
