Title: DSG Clunk after reset using VCDS
Post by: RetroRaz on November 07, 2014, 09:17:07 am
Hi all.

I done a DSG Reset on my TDI last night, car drives smoother, but when I am stationary and I select from N to D,I get a small clunk noise. and sometimes i see the gear number say 2 and then it quickly changes to 1.

I havent tested it this morning but will do tonight.

If i am driving and go into N and then into D, it doesnt do it. Only stationary.

Any ideas?

Also had the DSG service done yesterday too, didnt do it before the reset.

I'd drive it for a while and see if the 'clunk' sorts itself out. It may just need time adapting. If it remains the same then take it back to where you had it serviced and see what they have to say.

cheers bud. Im thinking of taking it for a long drive tonight mixture of town and dual carriage ways.

Should I drive it in M mode for it to adapt?

Won't hurt to use M mode but I'd just use D to start with and see how it goes.

Hi mate,
Maybe check your subframe it nice and tight. The reason I suggest this is because I too had a little dsg clunk. I had a friend install the subframe Audi bolt/spacer mod then noticed the gear selection clunk had gone.

Thanks.

Just had a try today, noticed it only happens when the car is cold. Once warmed up it never clunks. Is this normal?

Both cars I've had with DSG boxes were better when warmed up. Get occasional clicks from mine when it's cold that go when it's warm so I'd say yours is ok.

I had same issue when I reset mine, I thought I had screwed it, but after a few days it disappeared.
