Hey guys, with winter fast approaching I have been looking some decent rubber mats. You may have seen that Monster Mats make some awesome rubber mats for the mk5 with the honeycomb design and the GTI logo. These have previously only been available for LHD but I have been in touch with Dave over at Torque Partz and he has sourced UK RHD versions of these mats in red, white and blue :happy2: *edit* **these are most likely copies and not OEM Monster Mats - I'm not trying to deceive anyone here! **
They are currently on the special offers page here http://www.torquepartz.com/category/store/special-offers/ (http://www.torquepartz.com/category/store/special-offers/)
The pictures of the blue mats are the best, I know Dave uploaded these late last night. You can check out the pics of the LHD ones on ECS' site http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/Monster_Mats/ES2602945/ (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/Monster_Mats/ES2602945/)
Sets are limited for now. (4xred, 1xwhite, 1xblue). I haven't started a GB on these as Dave wants to see what the up-take is like first. He says more are available from the supplier if we are keen.
These are ROUND fitment only. They cannot have the fitting interchanged like some other mats. Oval fittings may be available in the future if these round ones sell.

Nice looking mats, don't confuse them as being OEM Monster mats though.
Have you bought a set? What are they like?
-
They are lovely!! Shame the oval twist is not available.
-
You can change the fitments, look on eBay they're about 4 quid.
-
Ohhh any links ?

Yea I wasn't 100% sure - Chinese copies you reckon??
I haven't bought a set as I need the oval fitment :-(
Just a word of warning to anyone thinking about changing the fixings, Dave said these cant be interchanged like some other mats. I guess they are part of the mat or really stuck in....
-
^^^^ cheers for the heads up @kris
Is there any links to the OEM mats?

They definitely look like Chinese copies, but it doesn't necessarily matter as they could be really good quality. I just think it's slightly misleading for the company to name them as Monster mats.

The Mk5 OEM Monster mats were only ever available for LHD IIRC.

Agreed it is a bit cheeky. But like you say could still be very good. If I had the round fittings I would order a pair to check them out...
OEM monster mats are LHD only.

-
Ouch, sorry guys had no idea these were + vat and shipping :surprised:

@kris (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=153) , Dave recons he had the tooling moulds made and needs to re-coup their cost, but on the other hand if he doesn't sell any he'll not get a penny back.
He was not interested in just doing front mats, but if they are separate moulds it makes no difference.
The description says 5 mats, with 5th one over the centre tunnel.
He did say he's up for a group buy, so should we name our price and see if he bites?
How much are people prepared to pay? I thought £69 delivered tops?
-
I don't know if these are Chinese copy but the OEM ones are unbelievable.
Don't hesitate.............you won't regret it :happy2:

I was thinking of asking him where he got them from/ how much etc
-
I'm in Spain so LHD is great.

I'm from Greece (so LHD) but I bought them from Germany back in 2008.
I can't remember the price because I bought them along with the velour ones.
The thing I remember is that they are NOT cheap but the quality is amazing.
