Title: Painting Leather Interior
Post by: georgekeemo on November 12, 2014, 11:52:59 am
Hey guys , i just found a mk5 leather interior but i really don't like the color. It's a bright cream,i'm more of a conservetive person ,not that flashy. It's a cheap 5 door complete leather interior at 150 euros ,maybe less. I was wondering if it could be possible or if is a good ideea to professional paint the leather. I've heard about this tehnique saw a couple of DIY's ,did somebody did this ? Shoud i go to a upholster and see prices for the retrim in black leather or try painting it ?
cheers !!

You can paint it but use only good quality products or leave it to a professional that guaranties the work done.

You can do it with the right products, on my old VR6 i got some yellow leather interior and dyed it black, was still looking good when i sold the car 4 years later...
i got all the products from here https://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Dye.php

I saw Ed dye the leather on wheeler dealers and it looked great  :happy2:

As said above, better to get a professional to do this rather than risk a DIY FAIL  :scared:
