to get the ,ost from my car im stilla few mods short.
I have the money now to either get:
a
Cat back exhaust
or a
forge twintercooler
which should i get,
initially i was after the intercooler. as i was having probs with theinlet temps very quickly. so far with this new map(of which ive been abusing quite a bit) i have had no such problems.
plus its winter so the temps are much lower and will continue to drop.
I already have a 3"pipewerx downpipe and cat, so the std 2.5" cat back could be restricting the exhaust system a bit. Also with the additional flow of exhaust gases that could reduce engine temps as well maybe??
what gains could i expect with each
By early nextr year i will have both anyway, but need to make the choice now
input appreciated guys.
Sy :happy2:

I would get the cat back personally mate, I dont think it will free up too much power, but should free up the revs a little more and could possible bring the temps down slightly (no expert) , you will also get a some sound too so whilst you've got the cold winter that would be my choice then buy the intercooler in spring ready for summer  :happy2:

which should i get,
S3 Cooler  :pomppomp:

			-
				Catback.
As you've said- you are heading into winter.
(wheras it is just warming up down here, so an intercooler is on order for me!)

			-
				all 3 mounts.

			-
mounts :scared: they wernt in the list.
theyare part of my 8 year bonus big spend out in June though, alongside a diff and BBK

			-
Cat back all the way for me  :happy2:

			-
Its cold now, no need for an intercooler until March/April.
I'm not a fan of loud exhausts, but if you want it, get it

.... x 2.  Cat-back first.
And when it's intercooler take your time checking out the 3 main contenders: Forge, S3, TSH. There's also APR but is it really worth the extra money?

			-
Agreed, go for the exhaust first, and get the cooler in March, when it will start to be needed

			-
well  think im decided on the cat back now. which one do i buy though, pipewrx, blueflame or non res miltek.  i wanted to choose the cat back TBH, you guys just helped make it sound like the right decision.
(wander if it'll heat soak with 3 power runs on the dyno in surrey??
As for intercooler there are 3 choices, For some reason i want two out of the three. I really want to try the S3 and forge together. Anybody done that on here??

is there a review on here for it, cant find it in a thread search. be interested to know if he noticed this 'lag' that you read about

			-
Cat back as has been said, seeing as it is winter no need for IC.  :signLOL:

			-
Cat back Si, you know it makes sense

			-
Dont bother with an intercooler untill you want MORE from stage 2/+.
Not hot enough in this country currently or only unless your a regular track day user.
Cat back Non Res milly gets my vote.

			-
Cat back non res Milltek from me as well.

			-
id say 3. oem style but bigger

			-
				....
Definitely not '4'.
Having had both straight-cut and slash-cut on mine I much prefer slash-cut.
Twin slash-cut would be ideal imo but I don't see it as available.

			-
				I'd say 3 tbh

			-
I'd say No1 out of those, unless there is a cut out for the exhaust in the rear bumper that suits No3 better.

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi715.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fww160%2Fjakethemoss%2FBillede0284.jpg&hash=9f74aba84f02e1d5f1b23325f8d7a2a5ecc88b1a)
fits nicely with the gti rear bumper

			-
				Hmm nice!

			-
				^^^^
Yep, I said earlier that twin slash-cut was the best.
