Hi,was thinking of getting one of these divertor valves just wondering if they are any good ?

In summary:
+more robust than standard DV so shouldn't need replacing again
- costs over twice as much as stock DV
- proven to leak boost where OEM diaphragm DV doesn't
= may as well get a Rev D DV as it's less than half the price, is just as robust and will leak a bit of boost too. OEM diaphragm valves (Rev G) hold boost the best but can fail on K03 turbo'd cars (base GTI)

Id still opt for the G as even the D leaks boost as it has no seal on the plunger.

What sort of engine tune does the boost leak become a real issue? I have stage 1+ and my car seems to boost fine but I do hear a whooshing noise now since fitting the DV+.

Have there been any verified reports of these leaking since the revised version was released?

Not sure if anyone has tested the recent one.
Maybe worth someone doing a back to back Dyno test with a rev G :party:

I have a K03 and installed a new Rev G. Within 2 weeks I'm definitely getting a boost leak. Took it off but couldn't see much damage. Off next week so will remove and confirm then.

I would check other things like the PCV valve etc. Mine ran stage 2+ for approx 40,000 miles with no issues with 1 'G' revision DV; so they are more robust than the earlier ones. If it has split after 2 weeks then take it back to the place you purchased it from.

Checked PCV and it's fine. VW didn't seem at all surprised and he actually jumped at me and apologised saying that all VW parts purchased comes with a labour warranty so even though I installed it myself, if it failed they will replace and do the work too.
The catch, if they prove it is in fact ok then I have to pay them labour!
Hence my reluctance and wanting to do it myself.

Awesome gti and some tuners stopped using the gfb dv+ as it turns out to be a troublesome upgrade
