Title: VW Boot badge/handle
Post by: weyland on November 21, 2014, 04:23:56 pm
Just had my tailgate painted and have got hold of a later MK5 3d boot badge to replace the old badge which is riddled with whiteworm.
Thing is I'm a bit of a doofus when it comes to all things technical so is there a video or some blow by blow instructions on fitting this kicking about? I have tried searching but not with much luck, all i find are upgrades where the badge is changed and not the complete unit.
Also would I be right in saying that my paint code LC5F is Blue Graphite.   :rolleye:

It's pretty simples if not a PITA.

Remove the 2 screws inside the inside of the handles of the boot trim. Now remove the boot trim, you just need to get your hand underneath a corner and PULL. Once you fell a few clips pop out just work your way around and it's off.

You can now see what's what. Loosen off the screws holding the wiper arm in as you'll need the room to get the handle mech out. Unclip loom from handle, remove screws and turn to release.

Just a case of doing Everthing in reverse now to get it all back together. I'm sure that's all......not done one of these for a few years.

Sounds straightforward, I need to do this on my R32 after stoving the boot in :(
