Manual gearbox, it could be used, and some even have 'launch control'
DSG gearbox, (correct me if i'm wrong) you don't need it as the pedal stays planted to the floor between changes.
hour or so to fit (from when i was looking at one) but you have to cut and bite in to the loop to get it running, and i'm not a fan of that kinda thing....my self.
-
Intrested to find this out also ! :innocent: for a friend !
-
Flat shifting made a huge huge difference in straight line speed to my car
I dont think it will be worth it on a k03 car and gains will probaly be minimal on k04 it will help with faster gearchanges but there isnt really much lag on these turbos
-
Thanks Pikey,
Out of interest.... which box have you gone with?
-
Would be fun if these things worked with a dsg!

Don't really need one tbf, you already have rapid shifts and launch control, obviously the flames are nice though

N2mb
I wouldnt bother with any other

They do work with dsg the launch control is benificial if you have haldex as it will build boost and rpm is adjustable, where as dsg just holds revs
Its not really necessary though unless your at a dragstrip all the time
-
I wouldn't actually use it for launching. But rather for the show with flames and sound :). I think the dsg launch control is great as it is.
-
Its not really what its for and it will break things on the car egt temps can go through the roof if you just hold it on launch control building boost for to long
Itis fun though people will dive on the floor for cover when driving through town on a saturday night lol

Niki at R-tech always recommends getting up-rated conrods if you are having a Wotbox installed with the 1.8t's.
Imagine it will be the same with the 2.0tfsi.
Known for bending and shooting out the block due to the abuse they take from the pops and bangs :fighting:
-
The 1.8t dont like them much the 2.0tfsi seems to not have many probs allthough there are some
-
My friend had one on his Td05 18G 1.8T. it was comical
so loud!, I remember hearing people scream and start running when it started banging on gear changes.
isit active all the time or can you make it pop and bang on request?
where is the best place to get them from?
-
It can be turned on and off dont fit one just for the bangs tho u will end up blowing ur turbo or breaking something
-
nooo not just for Bangs,
Mostly for flat shifting
-
The flat shifting is amazing i am going to disable the 2step its not worth it
-
Sweet , where is the best place to get one from?
Must say your car is one of my favourites ever!!
-
Psi tuning is a uk supplier and where i got mine
-
Stupid question, what does WOT stand for and what exactly do they do?

Stupid question, what does WOT stand for and what exactly do they do?
Allows launch control and flat shifting and give some naughty pops and bangs.
I'm not sure how you would set what revs you want it to hold boost at, maybe in instructions
the flat shifting would be the best part i think - foot flat on the gas while changing up a gear. keeps the boost up instead of respooling.
Dont use it like this guy though.
prob best example of flat shifitng
-
wot = wide open throttle
-
i wanna wot box!
1 question is it a thing that can be 'turned' off,as in not using it all the time
just for when im out shopping etc or is it normal until you open it up?
-
It can be turned off and doesnt engage unless you flat shift
