How can i get intouch with them? The guy bought it off vw 18 mobths ago with 40k on the clock. Seems like a decent guy, but i'm sure i read that mk6's had a engine problem and a few needed replacing :/

Yes i've seen it. I'd like a standard one ideally, but thanks for that.

Mk6 seems a bit of a dead area to me personally!
Either save a packet and go for a late mk5 (essentially same as mk6 anyway) or go all out and go mk7 which is a completely new car/platform
Not much help but there you go
Personally think the mk5 is a bettef looking car than the mk6 too :happy2:

The Mk6 GTI is steadily starting to come down in value, seen quite a few for under £10k recently.
Early cars do suffer from problems with the timing chain which can mean expensive repairs if it fails. To mitigate this you're best of either buying a car that's had the problem and been repaired, or investing in a good warranty.
DSG 'boxes as above just need their 40k oil changes but other than that seem strong.
