Hi folks, just a quick NOOB question. I need to replace my passenger door lock module & a seller on ebay has asked for a part number. Is there any other way I could source the number without removing the door skin. Thanks in advance :happy2:

No it's a removal job but the common one is here
http://www.partscats.info/volkswagen/en/?i=cat_vag_models&brand=vw&number=1714&set=1728&ein=2007&f=474&hauptgr=1234567890&hg=8&grf=083700420&bf=83700&hgug=837&ug=37&parent_id=2350474
Item 1 3D2 837 015 K with the end 4K3 when you look at the link.
That's important for this reason

The most common door lock module for golfs is the part number 3D2 837 015 K near side front.
However, the correct method is to use your chassis number - build date and PR codes to identify the correct part!
Other than the above you've got to remove the part for the number.
There is a supplier on eBay doing these for just over £30 with 12 months warranty.
Hope that helps you.

Hi Luke
I have a secondhand front passenger door lock module (3D2 837 015 K) that I bought off here that I have for sale. I ended up selling my mk5 so I never got round to fitting it so it is now surplus to requirements. I paid £30 for it at the time but you can have it for £18 inc 1st class p&p if that's of any use to you?
Here's a fitting guide off the forum..

I previously changed my rear passenger door lock module using this guide to I know it's not too bad to do!
Anyway, let me know if you want this one off me.
Cheers
Paul.
