My old SAAB used to put the light on with 70 miles left in the tank (according to the computer)... the Golf is on with around 20 miles left... smaller tank or different check level (similar MPG btw)?

In my mk5 the light comes on with between 45 and 20 miles left in the tank... the latter if I've been involved in a bit of spirited driving

Not advisable to run a diesel dry, but the 0 miles left means "look, seriously, stop playing games and just spend some money on fuel. No-one likes doing it but it needs to be done". Do diesels get the "cough" before they run out like petrols?

Since installing my Dension Pro BT kit I have a digital fuel gauge on the highline display that counts down in litres

The fuel light came on with 10litres to go!
Might be brave and see how low I can get it!

Just had a quick look at my fuel receipts (need them for work).

I think the most I have put in is 55.19 litres.  I think I remember this trip :scared:

The filler neck holds around 2 litres so you really did only have a bit left  :scared:

55 Litres + the filler neck - As GrayMK5GTI states; Probably around 2 litres.
