looking to get the longlife oil outta my axx engine and some fresh fluids in there, it's done 14k on that oil so far, so within the original intervals, just don't like such long intervals myself.
So I can get the oil from opie oils, helix ultra for 30 quid and about a fiver for an oil filter. Or, I can drive to national tyres and get an oil and filter change for 40 quid. Happy days! Anyone know of any better deals? I half fancy buying 20 litres of oil and changing the oil for others at cost price.....
Any other options?
-
Buy the oil and filter and do it yourself - National Tyres oil is going to be Happy shopper, if they use the right oil at all!
-
Cosco members could get castrol edge oil last week for £25 for 4L, and asda had 1L top ups at £9. Cheapest I've seen it for awhile.
-
You dont know what oil they'll use, just do it yourself then you know there's decent stuff in there, never worth risking with oil :happy2:
-
Find a decent local indy and supply them the parts, used to do my own, but have it done for a tenner a drop now... can't be assed doing it myself for that tbh; especailly getting rid of the oil.

Quantum long life is probably best bang for buck
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quantum-Longlife-3-5W-30-Fully-Synthetic-Engine-Oil-5-Litre-Bottle-/171512244583?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27eeed2967
its 5 litres as well, not 4.
-
I'm surprised I haven't heard you guys mention quantum oil yet.
its 10w 40 and for VW's,
Check your local TPS, I ended up getting 10L for £14 on a special deal they had.
beisdes that there is qx triple which is good. usually 18quid for 5L

That is a good price especially as Castrol Edge is £34 from ECP and is the same oil.

I use quantum all day long from TPS and give my local mechanic £20 to do it for me. unless the sun is out shining ill Do it myself.
-
So a quick call to TPS shows that the oil is more expensive than direct from the dealer (which is only 3 quid more than the ebay link above) so I'll go OEM with this one. Thanks Folks

Depends if they quoted you trade price or customer price. some are strict and some arent.
check on there website from time to time, they usually have deal on.
Or
check at your independent VW garage, they usually have the massive drums to fill your 5lt bottle for you.
nice and easy

That's not the right grade for the TFSI.
5w30 is stock
5w40 better for tuned cars (Millers Nanodrive FTW)

I get that Quantum for £17 a bottle, sometimes cheaper when the TPS oil deal is on
