So my driver side door card lights are in a world of their own. These being the electric window lights, fuel flap light, lock light and so on....
Occasionally in the mornings they don't come on immediately with all the other interior lights. I've scanned it with VCDS and no error codes at all. The door card has never been off.
I'm going to check all the terminals and look for broke wires but I was curious to know if anyone else had experienced this and what the outcome was.
Danke
Dom

You might have the door wire loom damaged from opening and closing the door. VW issued a correction for this loom that's stronger and longer.

Thanks @Shoduchi (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10590) - sounds like a possibility. Have you any more info on this?

Cheers bud. I have read the myturbodiesel one.
I've emailed my parts bloke at Volkswagen.

I've noticed that sometimes my window switches (and corresponding door lights) take 2-3 seconds to come online after I've started the car - I think it's just related to the control circuitry rather than a break in the wiring - no biggie

Seriously, this is weird!!! I noticed this last night and now I find this post describing exactly what I'm experiencing...
Here's a vid of what's going on in my car, is it similar?
https://vimeo.com/113620672 (https://vimeo.com/113620672)
I've never noticed this before but it's almost like the drivers side doesn't activate until the auto leveller has done its thing for the headlights and then voila, lights and power to the drivers door - strange!
I'm not convinced it's an electrical wire problem but I'm interested to know I this is normal.
Can anyone else post up a vid of theirs?

Mines doesn't do it every time, I'd say roughly 1/4 of the time
On a stranger note, when I had my mk6, occasionally when driving along the footwell lights would come on for a 1/2 second, then go off again. Caused many WTF  moments!

This is strange!!!
It hasn't done it since I posted this a week ago.

Sorry to be late to the party and bumping an old thread but i have had the same problem, i noticed an intermitten fault with my tweeter when the door was opend and what a supprise the door loom was fooked.
Although this has been identifed as a design fault with the jetta the golf is not covered under the same recall and thereofer i had to payup for the some german blokes design flaw :P
£189 later (i was told it was supposed to be more but VW honored my quote) im fixed and good to go...untill the loom breaks again as the length of the cables are the same as the previous one
