Title: Brake light switch?

I'm in the process of replacing mine and I cannot find where it is?

I have been following vw vortex but my brake pedal setup looks completely different, I have a 2006 gti.

You remove the best plastic panel above the pedals in the foot well and its just behind and partially in the brake pedal. Its quite a fiddly job, you should see a small white bit that's touching the pedal and that's part of the switch.

Sorry if this doesn't help much but its a PITA job until you've got the hang of it, then it's easy.

Thanks mate, I've seen that bit, is the white part something I remove or will I see it all nearby?

The white part is the end of it, the unit its attached to needs to be rotated anticlockwise (iirc) then you can take it out and unplug it then put the new one in.
