Hi,
This just a general conversation guys, I was on the m1 heading up south and the mk6 decided to be funny and tailgate me on the slow lane for a while. I had enough and then gapped him. This then created a racing vibe, which I did not really want, however I overtook him on numerous occasions at around very high speed (cannot mention) but his was DSG and I was manual his seemed to pull faster at high speed. Is this normal ? or is my mk5 not grabbing the road because i down shifted on numerous occasions but it seems to aqua glide. I slam the accelerator and from steady 3 revs it rises and pulls back and then shoot up rapidly to 7k what is the pull back when I accelerate about ?
Please don't comment on the speeding etc, this was purely to test my car for the map :rolleye: :congrats:
Related comments appreciated!

firstly did you wind down your window as he was passing you and ask him if he had any mods on his motor?
secondly i don't think 'this was purely to test my car for the map m'lud' tends to stand up in court... :rolleye:

It may have potentially been a stage 1 because I destroyed him in most cases hahaha and yeah it happened on a private track.

I was on the m1 heading up south? :stupid: :congrats:

Sureyour clutch isn't slipping mate?

Right, lets start at the top. What modifications are you running for stage 1?
Have you checked your DV, PCV and cam follower to make sure they are all functioning properly? Done a recent fault scan/health check?
How do you know the other car was a DGS model? As mentioned, there's no way of knowing for certain if the other car had a stock system.
Tyres could be a crucial part too, rubbish budget tyres will not be able to lay the power down.
Non of this is intended to sound rude, just curious for facts... :happy2:

I managed to see it was DSG as I have seen the car before, I have had my diverter valve changed to rev G my stage 1 map is producing 255bhp with 310 torque. My fronts are Continentals and rears are bridge stones. I haven't tested it properly on the motorway but it does sometimes jump on the accelerator as though I am aqua planning! The other car may have been a stage 1 because It did pull even at high speed on the track!

Sounds like possible clutch slipping best way to check put it in a high gear and boot it you will notice the car will rev like its loosing traction then grip again once its found some clutch! i had the same problem when i went Stage 2+ in my old Mk2 Leon Cupra.

Wont be down to dsg, when my ed30 was stage 2 manual i raced my mates ed35 dsg stage 2 revo and my ed30 was quicker.. But i did have a twintercooler but doubt would make a huge difference

I see, It might potentially be my clutch. As in gear 6 full throttle the cars revs shoot up and then catch the road again. Can I sort this without the clutch as currentlyI do not have the finance.
Kind Regards
