Title: help - Rough idle and revving on its own?
Post by: TomGTI on December 23, 2014, 06:38:04 pm
Just got in from work and my Pirelli started to rev on its own when at idle, it slowly rises to about 1500-2000rpm and then slowly drops?

Also the idle is really ruff and unsettled, I'm rather concerned as I need the car over the xmas period.

Quick help will be a massive help

Thanks

Sounds like PCV.

Edited your spelling of "idle" because it was getting on my nerves  :signLOL:

Yes thanks I wasn't referring to Pop Idol.

I will check by pulling the dip stick out and seeing if the engine changes.

Is it okay to drive as will doubt I will get one this side of Christmas?

It won't be a great driving experience tbh, probably will be fine as long as your not going far. If you live in Cheshire, I've got an old Rev L you could have for free to keep you going

Been to a garage no fault codes at all but he said the the lamper sensor after the cat isn't working as it should and will be replaces soon. Any one experienced this before?
