Messing around with this little lot

New Denso Iridium power sparkplugs. Cooler rating than stock plugs and should help stop any misfires. :happy2:

Millers CVL Turbo Octane booster

Tested this on my original REVO stage 2+ settings of B9 T6 F9 and found it to perk up the top end nicely. I've since phoned REVO HQ who said to try B9 T7 F6 to get the most from it without pushing the car too far. The results are very good as seat of the pants difference feels very good throughout the rev range. I've booked back in to Nobles Dyno to see if it is just me or if it really is the settings and octane booster. :jumping:

I'll also be trying some of this soon. :driver:

I heard this was the best stuf so bought some, havent used it yet. Do some logs to see if the timing is advancing more and its not pulling back.

Dan iirc you have water meth injection. Does that not have the same effect as using octane booster to a certain degree.

I will say about that Fifth Gear vid - there's a bit of difference in a bench K-Series and a turbo car with adjustable software.

Let us know how you get on Hurdy.  :happy2:

I suspect that it's just down to the settings...

Hurdy, would have thought with your mods you would be running Boost 9 Timing 6 and fuel 6 on v power.

Then for higher octane than v-power you just advance timing

That looks interesting too. Looks like back to back testing for me over the next few weeks

That's what I'll be doing from now. I've gone from b9t6f6 to b9t7f6 to try out the octane booster.

As Bacillus says, the timing difference will make the extra power, but it should be the octane booster that allows me to run t7

Oh and I have to do these before the end of next week as the DECAT section is going on

Increasing your fueling to F6 has the "side effect" of extra cooling the cylinder temperature thereby allowing higher timing to be used with less CF pull.

You don't want to increase the fueling too much or you'll end up with petrol dilution of the oil on your cylinder wall leading to increased rate of cylinder bore wear.

Yeah, they did mention that running F6 would help with keeping things cool. If the logs look okay I might push it back up to 7. :happy2:

hurdy how come you not interested in water methanol injection. ill act like octane booster(if not better)and clean all the inlet valves and reduce temps.

I haven't made my mind up yet on the next step, so I'm amusing myself with some of the smaller fiddly (but worthwhile!) bits. I think I'm going to start tormenting Forge about the wastegate actuator soon as I've been reading that it can also help out with more power too :innocent:

Undecided whether or not to go for direct port water/meth or nitrous. Nitrous is more fulfilling as you can easily go for a 50 shot, which would give 50bhp AND 50lbft extra, or go for water meth and be happy with an extra 10bhp ish. I don't really fancy having to mess about with water/meth mixtures and all the associated pitfalls of setting it up right and maintaining. Wheras the Nitrous I think will be more fulfilling and give me over 400 bhp, plus there is a friendly gas guy I know nearby
We'll see :innocent:

people are already testing the ko4 forge actuator over on golfmkv.com seems to be some good results so far as long as you are running revo so you can adjust the seetings and make the mose of it  :happy2:

only problem as it looks an expensive job to fit..

also spoke to revo today who said you can load the new revo dsg map over the giac dsg map without having to remove it first - stage 2 sounds very interesting  :happy2:
